Fire breaks out in Chandralok complex

Kanpur: A fire broke out in Chandralok complex located at Birhana road on Tuesday evening causing panic and anxiety. People rushed out of the complex to save themselves. The fire tenders were rushed to the spot since the place where fire erupted is densely populated. To avert any mishap, fire tenders reached in time and started the task of firefighting.
The Chandralok complex houses several jewellery shops and stores. The fire started from fifth floor. A cylinder caught fire. Soon the fire started spreading and it engulfed the items kept nearby. Sometime later, the fire flames became visible. People then rushed out of the building. They informed police and fire brigade about the incident. In sometime, police and fire tenders from Latouche road fire station reached the spot. Firefighters took one hour to douse the inferno.
CFO, Deepak Sharma said that fire tenders successfully douse the flames and there was no injury or loss of life. However, an inquiry would be conducted on Wednesday to ascertain how the fire broke out.
