Shell: Fire Near Gua Musang Kelantan Food Court

KUALA LUMPUR, April 3 (Bernama) — Shell Malaysia is aware of the fire which occurred at food stalls located near Stesyen Minyak Shell Kooperasi Kesedar Gua Musang, Kelantan, around 10:50 p.m. on Wednesday night.
The fire was quickly brought under control by the fire department.
Preliminary investigations indicate that an overflow occurred during a fuel transfer from a road tanker to the underground tanks at the retail station. This fuel subsequently travelled to the food stall area. We regret this and are investigating the root cause.
We are deeply concerned that a number of people at the stalls were injured in the fire and will render any immediate assistance and support required by the injured, including extending financial assistance to cover their medical expenses.
We can confirm that no injuries were sustained by the staff or customers at the station. Operations at the station were immediately halted and all personnel and members of the public were evacuated from site as a precaution.
We are cooperating fully with the relevant government authorities in their investigations.
