Davao City fire displaces 1,000 families, causes P15M in property damage

A fire that hit a residential area in Davao City on Friday night caused around P15 million in property damage according to an estimate by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
In its report, the NDRRMC also said 1,000 families were affected and are temporarily staying at the Quezon Elementary School.
The NDRRMC said the fire started at 8:12 p.m. Friday at Isla Verde Barangay 23-C Boulevard.
The fire lasted five hours and affected two other villages – barangays 22-C and 21-C – before it was put out.
However, the NDRRMC also noted no one was initially reported killed or injured in the fire. — Joel Locsin/JDS, GMA News
