Maharashtra: Luxury bus charred, 37 saved just in time

NAVI MUMBAI: At least 37 passengers, including the driver and cleaner, onboard a luxury bus had a narrow escape as it caught fire due to short-circuit.
The incident took place at Osargaon toll plaza of Mumbai-Goa highway under Kankavli taluka, Sindhudurg, around 6am on Wednesday.
Kelkar Travels’ luxury bus, plying from Pune to Sawantwadi on Goa-bound carriageway, was charred in the incident.
The bus had crossed toll plaza when a passenger smelled smoke and alerted others. Driver Mangesh Vadar parked the bus on highway for people to alight.
