Fire breaks out in East Maredpally

Hyderabad: A fire broke out in a flat on the seventh floor of an apartment building in East Marredpally in Secunderabad on Friday.
According to Secunderabad fire station officer D Mohan Rao, at around 6.30 pm on Friday, a fire broke out from the puja room of the flat. Fire officials said that a fire tender reached the spot and the flames were doused within one hour.
The residents were evacuated after they sensed the smoke coming out of the room. Officials suspect that the fire from a lamp might have caused the mishap. The fire eventually spread towards the living room by the time it was controlled. Officials estimate that the property damage could be in lakhs. tnn
