Fire breaks out at furniture shop

Chennai: A fire broke out at a furniture godown near Madhavaram on Tuesday night. No casualties were reported but furniture were gutted in fire.
According to the Madhavaram Milk Colony police, the godown belonged to a man identified as Nirupan of Kodungaiyur. On Tuesday night, around 10 pm, the security noticed black smoke emanating from the godown. He then informed Madhavaram fire and rescue department who rushed to the spot .
A case has been registered and an investigation is on. TNN
