Fire breaks out at Gurugram’s banquet hall after wedding, no casualties

GURUGRAM: A fire broke out in a banquet hall on Sheetla Mata road around 5am on Tuesday, an hour after the rituals at a wedding function got over. According to officials, the fire department was notified at around 5.15am and nine fire tenders were pressed into service from three different stations.
Lalit Kumar, a fire department official, said at 4.15am, a wedding procession had left the venue. This was over an hour before the fire broke out due to an agarbatti (lamp). The blaze later spread to the pandal and canopies. He said that the rear part of the pandal, including temporary structures for the wedding, was completely gutted. He said that no one received any injuries.
