Updated: 2023-02-18
MUMBAI: A major fire was reported at Raghuvanshi Mill compound on Senapati Bapat Marg in Lower Parel at 7.15pm on Friday. The fire spread across an office on the second and third floors of a four-storey commercial structure.
Eight fire engines, four jumbo water tankers, a quick response vehicle and a breathing apparatus van were rushed to the site. BMC’s disaster control room said it was a level III fire
The number of fire engines was then increased to 12, and jumbo water tankers were increased to six. Former Mumbai brigade fire chief Prabhat Rahangdale who happened to be at the site to meet a friend said he noticed the blaze and immediately rushed to the site. “There were 20-25 people stuck inside and I tried to get them all out. But the flames kept on flaring, I rushed to save as many as I could,” he said. tnn
