Chennai: Fire and rescue services personnel rescued a disabled person caught in a fire that broke out at a lodge in Tiruvallur on Wednesday.
A family from Washermenpet were staying at the lodge at Sannathi Street. They had come to worship at a temple in the district. A short-circuit in their room led to a fire. As thick smoke filled the room all the guests except Durairaj rushed out of the room. Durairaj failed to make his way out. Firemen and police from Tiruvallur came to his rescue and managed to bring him out. Tiruvallur Town police and firemen are probing the exact cause of the fire. tnn
