GHAZIABAD: A fire broke out at a thermocol manufacturing unit in Kotwali area on Friday afternoon. Police suspect a short circuit as the cause of the incident.
According to the fire department, a total of 10 fire tenders took over four hours to control the situation.
The owner of the factory, Vinod Sachdeva-a resident of Ghaziabad- claimed that items worth Rs 10 lakh were gutted in fire.
Chief fire officer (CFO) Rahul Pal said that the incident happened aroudn 1.30 pm and fire tenders were immediately sent to control the situation.
“The challenge was for us to douse the flames in such a way that the fire didn’t spread to adjacent factories. So we used 10 fire tenders who were spraying water from five sides of the factory. It took over four hours to control the situation,” he said.
