School bus catches fire

Hisar: A school bus with 40 students on board caught fire in Hisar district’s Kohali village on Friday and the driver managed to get all children out safetly. Fire tenders reached the spot, but by then the bus was completely burnt. Forty students were going home in a private school bus after appearing for their Class X examination in Adampur on Friday afternoon. When the bus reached Kohli village at around 2.30pm, it caught fire due to a sparking issue and was soon reduced to ashes.
Ex-GRP staffer ends life
Hisar: A retired sub-inspector from the government railway police (GRP) allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a train near here on Friday. Raghubir, a resident of Bichpari village, had retired as sub-inspector from the service a month back. In a suicide note found near the incident site, Raghubir has accused higher officials, including SHO, reader and many other employees, of torturing him. The family members of Raghubir said they wouldn’t cremate the body until the accused were booked.
Kabaddi player arrested
Hisar: Hansi’s anti-narcotics cell has arrested a state-level kabaddi player with 500 intoxicant injections. Accused Ajay Kumar is from Madina village. A Hansi police spokesperson said the anti-narcotics cell had received information that a man was carrying drugs in a car. The team stopped the vehicle on the Jagga-Bara Minor bridge on the Hansi-Data road and seized 500 drug injections during the search.
