Fire breaks out at 14-storey residential building in Mumbai

MUMBAI: A fire broke out at a building at Kanjurmarg’s Mhada colony in Mumbai at around 9.30 on Sunday.
Five people suffered from suffocation and were to be rushed to the hospital.
Their condition is stated to be stable, said fire brigade officials.
The fire broke out in the meter cabin of the ground-plus 14-storey residential MHADA building.
The fire was doused within half an hour.
The flames confined to the electric wiring, electric installation in common electric meter cabin on the ground floor and the electric duct of the building.
The injured, including 74-year-old Vimal Sakte, Alka Sakte (40), Natasha Sakte (13), Anjali Mavlankar (60) and Karuna Ubale (65), are being treated at Vikhroli’s Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital.
