CPN-M student wing torches school bus in Mahendranagar

MAHENDRANAGAR: The cadres of All Nepal National Independent Students’ Union-Revolutionary (ANNISU-R) affiliated to the CPN-Maoist Maoist on Friday torched a bus belonging to the International Public Higher Secondary School in Mahendranagar.
The cadres vandalised the class rooms and torched a bus of the school saying that it has printed the pictures of the Indian leaders on covers of the student’s exercise books at around 8:30 am today.
According to managing director of the school Maha Sharma Neupane, a gang of five to six members entered the school this morning, and vandalised window panes of the bus (Na 4 Kha 458) before setting it on fire.
The fire was later taken under controlwith the help of teachers and students, he said.
It has been learnt that the pictures of Mahatma Gandhi and other leaders were printed on the school copy.
However, the district Chairman of the union, Ram Bahadur Mahara said that they were compelled to torch the bus after the school administration turned its deaf ears to their demands not to print pictures of Indian leaders.
Chairman of the School Management Committee Lila Dhoj Basnet said that they have started a discussion with the district level leaders and the assailants will be booked at the earliest.
Following the incident, police have nabbed Prakash Japrel and Birendra Bista for their alleged involvement in the incident.
SP Rajendra Prasad Chaudhary informed that they have initiated a manhunt to nab other culprits involved in the incident adding that the culprits will be punished as per the law.
