KMC dumper catches fire

Kanpur: There was panic after fire broke out in a moving municipal corporation dumper on Wednesday morning under the Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University Metro station on the GT road area of the City.
On seeeing flames rising, the driver and attendant abandoned the vehicle and alerted the locals, who apprised the fire department and local police.
Two fire tenders controlled the fire.
A short circuit in the engine of the dumper is suspected to have caused the fire.
Kalyanpur police station inspector Devendra Kumar Dubey said, “Smoke emanated from the engine of the dumper that was moving from Polytechnic side under the CSJMU Metro station. Municipal corporation officials were informed about the incident.”
