Couple killed in QC fire

MANILA, Philippines – An elderly couple was killed in a 15-minute fire that gutted their house in Quezon City yesterday morning.
The remains of Severino Makabingkil, 70, and his wife Lara, 65, were found inside their bedroom on O’Donnell street, Barangay Holy Spirit shortly after flames razed their house.
The couple’s 25-year-old daughter, Dahlia, sustained second-degree burns.
According to Senior Fire Officer 1 Francisco Mendoza, the blaze was reported at around 6:12 a.m. at the couple’s one-story residence.
The fire did not even reach the first alarm as the flames were put out at around 6:28 a.m.
