Ratlam-Ambedkar Nagar train catches fire in Madhya Pradesh, no casualties reported

INDORE: A fire broke out in the Ratlam-Dr Ambedkar Nagar DEMU train’s generator car on Sunday morning within half an hour after leaving the Ratlam station. No casualties were reported.
The reason of the fire was not known and an enquiry has been ordered to investigate the incident.
The train left the Ratlam station at 6.35 am as per the schedule and it caught fire at the Pritam Nagar station about 30 km from Ratlam station, Western Railway’s Ratlam division public relations officer (PRO) Khemraj Meena said.
The fire broke out in the driving motor coach positioned in the middle of the train that later spread to the adjoining coach though no passengers were hurt in the incident.
According to the PRO, the fire brigade reached the spot at 7.50am and the fire was completely extinguished at 8.10 am.
The divisional railway manager (DRM), division medical engineer, accident relief train and other senior officials reached the spot.
The passengers of the affected train were later shifted to another DEMU train to reach Dr Ambedkar Nagar railway station and the route was cleared.
