INDORE: At least two people were killed while two others were seriously injured in a fire that took place at a factory manufacturing disposables in the industrial area of Madhya Pradesh’s Dewas town on Friday morning.
“The fire had started at 10am at Aaradhya Disposal Industries Private Company. Fire tenders were rushed to the spot immediately and are trying to douse the flames. Those injured were hiding under the bed. Two of them have received burns on their face. They fell unconscious because of the smoke,” said additional superintendent of police Manjit Singh.
Senior police officials rushed to the spot and seven fire tenders were engaged in bringing the fire under control.
It is suspected that the fire was triggered because of a short circuit.
Sonu, son of Ramesh Choudhary (24), and Govardhan Choudhary (24) were killed in the accident whereas two others, including Mahesh Verma and Bahadur, were rushed to the hospital with burns for treatment.
They were referred to Indore.
All four injured are residents of Pankhedi village.
The fire officials broke the wall of the company to rescue the trapped people.
They were trying to control the flames and the operation was on till the report was filed.
One of the injured people told police that they were on night duty on Thursday and had slept in the area after their shift changed.
When he woke up in the morning, they were surrounded by smoke.
Two of their friends were unconscious and after a while he also fell unconscious.
