Central Line train services halted for 20 minutes after electrical cable catches fire at Ambernath station in Thane

KALYAN: Train services on the Central Line were disrupted for 20 minutes on Saturday after an electrical cable at Ambernath railway station caught fire.
The fire was detected at around 4.15pm towards the downside of the station, which prompted the Central Railway to cut off the supply of the overhead wire as a safety measure.
The railway authorities also alerted the fire brigade team stationed at Ambernath railway station who promptly arrived at the site and were able to bring the fire under control.
According to A K Jain, deputy chief public relation officer, the incident caused a 20-minute delay in train services on the down line, especially between Ambernath and Karjat.
