Fire breaks out in dyeing unit in Ludhiana, no casualties
Updated: 2023-06-01
LUDHIANA: A massive fire broke out in a dyeing unit on Tajpur road in Ludhiana on Thursday evening. No loss of life was reported in the incident.
Firefighters found it difficult to enter the factory as fire and smoke blocked one entrance while at the other side, there was a boiler unit blocking their path.
Fire officials could not ascertain the exact cause behind the blaze. The fire, however, was brought under control after around 90 minutes.
The fire officials received the call at around 4.20pm about the incident but the nearby people claimed it was around 4pm when they noticed smoke coming out of the building.
The firefighters had had to break the wall and create holes so that smoke and heat could come out. They sprayed water from three sides to control the blaze.
Fire station officer Maninder Singh said, “There was thick smoke inside the unit and once the situation would get normal we would go inside and check. The exact reason behind the fire will also become clear once we check the unit.”
