Blaze in 15th-floor flat of Ghatkopar bldg; no injuries

MUMBAI: A fire erupted at 7.44pm on Tuesday in an apartment of a Ghatkopar highrise. There were no reports of any injuries and the cause of the blaze was not established.
Fire brigade officials said the blaze started in Boulevard 1 building located in Wadhawan Compund, Ghatkopar (West), in a flat on the 15th floor of the ground-plus-28- storey structure. Three fire engines, one jumbo water tanker, one highrise fire-fighting vehicle and an ambulance were rushed to the site. The fire was contained by 9.33pm.
Civic officials said the blaze was confined to the furniture and household articles in flat number 1502. “As a precautionary measure residents on the floor above the 15th floor have been rescued and brought to the ground floor through the staircase,” said a civic official. This blaze comes barely two days after a major fire in a flat in Breach Candy.
