Min Buri paint warehouse on fire
Updated: 2014-05-14-18:23
Firefighters are struggling to contain a large fire that broke out at a paint thinner warehouse in Bangkok’s Min Buri district on Wednesday afternoon. The fire started shortly before 4pm on the third floor of the four-storey Saha Union warehouse inside Bang Chan industrial estate in Soi Seri Thai 62 and spread quickly to the upper floor. The upper floors of the building store paints and paint thinners which fuelled the flames that forced employees to flee. No one was injured. Huge clouds of thick black smoke could be seen for a considerable distance. Reports said part of the fire-ravaged building began to collapse as flames spread through the lower floors. Pol Lt Col Adisak Chupan of Min Buri police station told FM100.5 radio station that 16 fire trucks were brought in to help fight the blaze, but as of 6pm, it was still raging. The cause of the fire is not known.
