Three shops destroyed in fire, none hurt

Kanpur: In a major fire late Friday night, at least three roadside make-shift shops were destroyed at the Bithoor-Kalyanpur road, in the district.No one was hurt in the fire.
Late Friday night, the fire started in one of the roadside shops at Bithoor-Kalyanpur road and quickly spread to two more neighbouring shops.
“Several fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the fire,” chief fire official Deepak Sharma said, adding it was extinguished in 30 minutes. The cause of the blaze is being ascertained, he said. Locals said a clothes ironing shop, a grocery stall and an eatery were destroyed completely.
“The owners of these shops had left after closing the shop and in the night fire broke out. The shop owners rushed on being informed but by that time everything was reduced to ashes,” they added.
