Fire in Karvenagar scrapyard, no injuries

Pune: Smoke and a foul smell permeated the Karvenagar area on Saturday morning after a fire broke out in a scrapyard near the Mutha river in Karvenagar, but no one was injured. The fire broke out around 11.15am. Fire station officer Gajanan Pathrudkar told TOI, “The scrapyard owner had stored cardboard, refrigerators and other material. These added ‘fuel’ to the fire. There were a couple of workers in the yard when the fire broke out. They managed to run away.” TNN
