Kanpur: The fire department on Sunday attended three fire related calls, including two in garbage dump at Sachendi and Cantonment areas and one in an Eucalyptus orchard near Dyodhi Ghat in Maharajpur area of the district.
The first call was received with regard to the fire that broke out in an Eucalyptus orchard in Dyodhi Ghat in Maharajpur area. The fire department sources informed that the two units of Jajmau Fire Station completely doused the blaze and prevented it from spreading further. There was no loss of life, the sources said.
In yet another incident reported from Chabiley Purwa in Cantt. the blaze that broke out in a garbage dump was doused by Mirpur fire station unit on the information received from locals.
The passers-by noticed the fire at the garbage dump in Chabiley Purwa. Soon, a fire tender from Jajmau Fire Station was pressed into service, which doused the flames.
The third incident was reported from Chakkarpur Mandi of Sachendi when a fire broke out in a garbage dump.
On getting information about the fire, two units from Panki and Fazalganj Fire Stations extinguished the fire. There was no loss of life, the fire department sources added.
