Fire breaks out in AC compartment of Durg-Puri Express in Odisha’s Nuapada district; no injuries

BHUBANESWAR: A fire broke out in the AC compartment of Durg-Puri Express (18426) at Khariar Road station in Odisha’s Nuapada district on Thursday night.
The fire erupted at 10.07pm.
No injuries or damages were reported, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) said.
The brakes of B3 coach were not released after alarm chain pulling (ACP). The brake pads caught fire due to friction after the incomplete release of brakes.
No fire was reported inside the coach. The fire was seen at brake pads. No other damages have been reported, the official sources said.
The problem was rectified and train departed at 11pm.
