NOIDA: The fire department suspects a short circuit behind a fire that broke out in a plastic moulding factory in Hosiery Complex in the Phase 2 area on Wednesday. 12 fire tenders brought the fire under control. No loss of lives was reported.
“We were informed about the fire at around 3.20am. 12 fire tenders rushed to the spot. The fire broke out on the second floor, and no workers were present at the factory during the incident. The security guard of the factory saw smoke and called us. Investigation revealed a short circuit as the cause of the fire however the exact cause is yet to be determined,” said Pradeep Chaubey, chief fire officer (CFO).
Meanwhile, a second fire incident was reported around 4.10pm at the Essential Oil Association of India in Sector 62.
“The fire broke out on the third floor of their building after an inverter battery exploded. Four fire tenders were rushed to the spot,” Chaubey said.
