Fire engulfs banquet hall in Bokaro

Bokaro: A fire engulfed Hans Mandap banquet hall in Sector 1 under the city police station limits on Tuesday. The fire reduced a significant portion of the hall besides the Radha Krishna temple on the premises to ashes, sources said.
Bokaro fire station in-charge Binod Kumar said, “A short circuit is suspected to be the cause behind the fire that was reported around 9am. Five fire extinguishers fought the flames for three hours.”
Despite efforts, only a Radha Krishna idol could be saved, while other statues were burnt in fire.
Properties worth Rs 5 lakh was gutted in the fire.
