Fire breaks out at cloth godown in Pune, no injuries reported

PUNE: A major fire broke out at a cloth godown in Yewalewadi near Kondhwa on Monday morning.
Eight fire tenders and seven water tankers were pressed into service to douse the fire.
“Fire fighting operation is still on. No injuries have been reported so far,” an officer from the Pune fire brigade told TOI.
He said that the fire broke at around 8.15am on Friday. Due to the garments mainly curtains, the fire spread in the entire godown. “We are pouring the water from all sides of the godown,” the officer said.
He said, the reason behind the fire is yet to be ascertained, the officer said.
