VISAKHAPATNAM: An incident of fire was reported onboard INS Mysore at Naval Dockyard in Andhra Pradesh’s Visakhapatnam.The fire was brought under control by the ship’s staff with the assistance of the dockyard staff.
No casualties have been reported.
An inquiry has been ordered into the incident.
The INS Mysore is a Delhi-class guided missile destroyer currently in active service with the Indian Navy.
The Delhi class vessels are the third largest warships to be fully designed and built in India.
INS Mysore has a displacement of 6,200 MT (metric tonne) in full.
It’s 535 feet long with 57 feet beam and 21 feet draft.
Its speed is over 28 knots (53 kilometre per hour).
