Fire at 108 ambulance’s office, computers, documents gutted

Updated: 2023-07-23

JAIPUR: Several laptops, documents and computers were destroyed in a major fire that ravaged the 108 ambulance’s office in Malviya Nagar Saturday morning.Chief fire officer (CFO) Rajendra Nagar stated that the fire broke out shortly after 7.25am. “We immediately dispatched six fire tenders to control the flames, which had engulfed a significant portion of the area where a large number of documents in separate files were stored,” Nagar said.

He added that the fire completely destroyed one floor of the office building.
Sources mentioned that the fire gutted many computers along with numerous important documents.
Officials stated that they could not ascertain the exact cause of the blaze, but they couldn’t rule out the possibility of some malfunction in an electrical device as one of the potential reasons.
Police confirmed that no employees were injured in the incident, and the fire services successfully controlled the blaze.
Locals reported seeing a large plume of smoke billowing from the building early in the morning. Within a few minutes, fire tenders arrived at the scene, but the blaze was still curling from the windows. The office has sustained extensive damage due to the fire.
Rescue teams immediately contacted the authorities to ensure that no one was trapped inside. One floor of the building was blackened in the fire, and the furniture was reduced to smouldering ruins.
Officials stated that the authorities were currently assessing the damage. “Initial reports suggested that some important documents may have been lost. This is because the office stored a large number of papers in the building,” said an official.
