KSRTC bus catches fire, no casualties

Thiruvananthapuram: A KSRTC bus caught fire at Chempakamangalam on Saturday morning. No one was injured in the accident. The bus was coming from Attingal to Thiruvananthapuram when the incident occured.
The fire reportedly started from the front portion of the bus, and was first noticed by passers-by. They soon alerted the driver and he stopped the vehicle immediately and urged passengers to deboard quickly.
The fire soon spread rapidly and the bus gutted completely in the fire. The traffic was disrupted on the national highway for an hour till the fire was fully extinguished by fire force and moved the bus to a safer zone.
The police have not registered any case. The bus was examined by a team of engineers from the KSRTC but the exact cause of the fire is yet to be identified.
