A 10-month-old child who was reported missing in a fire that hit a residential area in Manila’s Sampaloc district Thursday was found dead on Friday.
The child had been burned almost beyond recognition when found at the site of the fire, radio dzBB’s Carlo Mateo reported.
Initial reports by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council had identified the child as Benedict Reynera.
During Thursday’s fire, a senior citizen – Emiliana San Jose, 85 – was injured after sustaining burns on 20 percent of her body.
The dzBB report said Benedict had a twin who had died of a disease earlier.
The NDRRMC said the fire hit the residential area at Sta. Teresita St., Sampaloc, Manila. It started at noon and was put out at 2:28 p.m. — LBG, GMA News
