Electric scooter catches fire after battery explodes in Bihar’s Vaishali district

PATNA: An electrict scooter caught fire after its battery exploded in Bihar’s Vaishali district.
The video of the explosion is being widely shared on social media platforms.
The incident occurred on July 1 in Digghi village under Town Police Station. The incident came to light after the scooter owner captured the incident and uploaded it on his social media account.
The scooter belongs to a lawyer of Hajipur Civil Court. He bought it last year for Rs 85,ooo from Patna. It is seen in the video that the scooter is parked outside the house. Smoke is coming out from the seat of the scooter.
In a short while, the scooter caught fire and then the battery also exploded with a loud sound.
Some people tried to extinguish the fire with water and sand, but they did not succeed.
After much efforts, the fire was extinguished. According to the reports, the scooty was purchased around a year ago and its battery was having problems since the very beginning. Infact, the battery was replaced just three days before the incident.
