Fire breaks out at basement of multi-storey building in Kolkata

KOLKATA: A fire broke out at a chemical godown in the basement of a multi-storey building in Bowbazar area of Kolkata, on Friday morning.
The incident took place on BB Ganguly Street.
Five fire tenders have been pressed into service to bring the blaze under control which has been raging for last three hours.
So far, no injuries have been reported in the incident.
“The fire broke out in an adhesive godown located at the basement of the B+G+6 building on B B Ganguly Street at 7.35am,” official said.
Fire department had trouble accessing the godown as the access lane is small.
Efforts are under way to douse the blaze.
