MEERUT: A raging fire swept through a mattress factory on Delhi Road, within the jurisdiction of Kotwali Police Station in Baghpat during the early hours of Monday.
Firefighters rushed to the scene, and it took them five hours to successfully extinguish the flames, according to police.
Dushyant Sharma, the head of the Baraut fire office, told TOI, “The cause of the accident remains unknown, and we are still in the process of assessing the extent of the loss. The intensity of the blaze was so severe that walls and structures collapsed as well. No casualties have been reported so far. The factory specialised in the production of foam mattresses.”
