Couple Homeless After Fire Destroys House

ALOR SETAR, May 10 (Bernama) — Fire razed a house in Taman Setar II, Alor Mengkudu, here Thursday, leaving a couple homeless.
Chan Chin Yeet, 50, was preparing “pau” and “dim sum” for sale while her husband, Chong Chee Keong, 56, was outside the house when the fire started at about 11.30 am.
She could only save some important documents, she told reporters.
The couple’s three children live elsewhere.
Jalan Raja Fire Station chief Mohd Faizal Zainol Halim said the cause of the fire and the damage were under investigation.
