Traffic snarled as fire hits Ermita

Traffic was snarled early on Tuesday as fire of undetermined origin razed a residential-commercial area in Manila’s Ermita district.
The fire near the corner of Padre Faura and M.H. del Pilar Streets started shortly after 8:00 a.m. and had reached the fifth alarm, radio dzBB’s Carlo Mateo reported.
No one was reported hurt in the fire even as residents tried to get back to their burning houses to save their belongings, the report added.
Arson investigators are still determining what caused the fire.
Traffic aides instructed passing motorists to take alternate routes, the report said. – VVP, GMA News
