Manila fire leaves 40 families homeless

MANILA, Philippines – A fire that struck a residential area in Sta. Ana, Manila yesterday morning left about 40 families homeless and destroyed about P.5 million in property.
A report from the Manila Fire Bureau stated the blaze started at the second floor of a house owned by Helen Tiangco on A. Bautista street at around 6:24 a.m.
The fire spread to about 20 other houses and reached fourth alarm before it was put out at around 7:16 a.m. No one was reported hurt in the fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, arson investigators said.
