Fire breaks out in Gateway Mall basement in Cubao, Quezon City

Fire broke out at the basement of the Gateway Mall in Cubao, Quezon City late Friday evening, the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said via its official Twitter account.
The MMDA said the fire was at first alarm as of 10:25 p.m.
Quezon City fire marshall Albert Flores said what remains now of the fire is smoke as the flames have been extinguished, according to an interview on dzRH radio. Flores said the fire was kindled by a power generator.
But a later field report by GMA News’ Hadji Rieta said the Bureau of Fire Protection upgraded its response to the fire to the third alarm.
