Fire in Mumbra building, none injured

Thane: A fire broke out in the electrical meter room of a five-storey building in the Rashid Compound area of Mumbra, wee hours of Thursday, civic officials said. No one was injured in the incident.
The incident was reported around 1.40 am when few local residents spotted smoke and fire emanating out of the electric meter room located on the ground floor of the B-wing of Prince Palace building in Kausa, said Yasin Tadvi, in-charge at the regional disaster management cell, Thane.
Locals immediately alerted the police, civic fire brigade, disaster management team and the power supply company who rushed to the spot. The power supply to the building was disconnected as a precautionary measure.
The fire was brought under control after about one hour. Four electrical meters and wiring in the room were completely damaged in the blaze, informed officials.
The cause of the blaze will be investigated, informed Tadvi.
