Fire breaks out in Nair hospital’s hostel building

MUMBAI: On Saturday evening a fire broke out in a room on the 10th floor of the 11 storey hostel building of civic run Nair hospital. The fire was spread across electric wiring, installation, bed, wooden cupboard, books, documents, and clothes. No injuries have been reported in this incident.
According to the BMC’s disaster management unit, the blaze erupted at 6.30 pm in the hostel building located near Maratha Mandir theatre. The fire was swiftly extinguished by members of the public using a fire extinguisher and buckets of water before the fire brigade arrived. Firefighters on arrival first cut off the electric supply before undertaking fire fighting operations.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
