Accidental fire breaks out at old Mangalore tile roof house

Mangaluru: An accidental fire broke out at an old Mangalore tile roof house near Bunder in the city on Saturday morning.
Household items were damaged in the fire. Two fire tenders from Pandeshwar fire station rushed to the spot and doused the fire, said an official from the fire and emergency services.
The house is originally owned by late Khatijamma, and six families of her children and grandchildren have been staying on the first floor and ground floor of the house. It is suspected that a short circuit caused the mishap.
ANF officials gather
information
Following reports that Naxals had visited a house in Kadaba on Friday, a team of the Anti-Naxal Force (ANF)visited the house and gathered information.
The visit of the alleged Naxals is yet to be ascertained. “Based on the information received, a team visited the house and checked the area. The man is claiming that the alleged naxals asked for ration, but the team is verifying the claims,” said an official.
Man sustains stab injuries
A man sustained stab injuries when he visited a house near Ullal city municipal premises on Saturday.
The accused, Mohammed Javed, stabbed Hameed P when the latter visited his house.
Financial issues are suspected to be the reason behind the attack.
The accused is absconding. The victim’s wife and daughter were allegedly found murdered in Panjimogaru about 13 years ago.
