Updated: 2024-04-28
Nashik: A huge fire broke out in an electronics goods store in the Khutwadnagar area under the jurisdiction of the Ambad police station on Saturday.
Senior inspector Dileep Thakur, of the Ambad police station, said there was no loss of life or injury. However, articles worth over a crore have been gutted, said the police.
The fire broke out around 7 pm in the shop apparently because of a short circuit. Soon after the incident was reported, seven fire tenders from fire brigade centres across the city were rushed to the spot.
Harish Chaube, the fire safety officer of a private company in Igatpuri, who was at the incident spot, said, “The electronics goods showroom had one storey above the ground floor. Therefore, there was the possibility of the entire structure collapsing. We immediately got the employees to remove as many items out of the showroom and come out.”
Chaube said that by 9 pm, the flames had been doused, however, the work of spraying water continued.
