Hyderabad: Two persons were injured and 10 others escaped unhurt in a fire accident at a lodge at Mohan Nagar in Chaitanyapuri, on Friday morning.
According to fire department officials, 22 persons were trapped when the fire broke out and nearly 12 persons managed to flee out of the building through the 1st floor. Whereas, in the 2nd and 3rd floors the smoke widely diffused.
“The other trapped persons were brought down from the window by placing the ladder from an adjacent property,” fire officials said.
“A couple had to jump from the first floor window on to nearby shed to save themselves. The woman suffered burn injuries and both of them were shifted to Osmania General Hospital,” they added. On receiving a distress call, one fire tender from LB Nagar station was rushed to the spot. On seeing the severity of the fire, two more vehicles were rushed to the spot at around 3.30am.
Officials found that there were allegedly no fire safety measures nor emergency exit or fire safety equipment.
