Fire breaks out at garment unit in Kolkata’s New Town area

KOLKATA: A blaze erupted at a garment unit in New Town area in the north-eastern part of Kolkata on Saturday morning, officials said.
Fire fighters are present at the scene and attempts to douse the fire are under way.
Officials stated that there were no reports of any injuries or fatalities.
“We are trying to douse the flames from adjacent buildings. There is no threat of the blaze spreading to adjacent houses,” a fire brigade official said.
The reason for the fire is yet to be ascertained.
