Fire engulfs forest, doused after 4 hrs

Ludhiana: A massive fire broke out in a forest near Mand Chaunta village on Sunday. It took the fire brigade department about four hours to douse the fire. The villagers noticed the fire and informed the forest department. Mattewara range officer Mohan Singh said a nearby field was set on fire and it spread to the forest. The flames engulfed about 25 acres of land and some animals are suspected to have died in the fire. tnn
