Fires break out at 3 places in city, one of them a hotel

Gurgaon: The city reported three major fire incidents on Friday. No casualties were reported in any of them, police said.
A fire broke out at the Stepstones hotel in Nathupur on Friday following a shot circuit. The incident was reported to police around 6.30am.
DLF-3 inspector Balraj Singh said, “The switchboard in the ground floor caught fire after to a short circuit. Thick smoke emanated and the hotel staff put out the fire using fire extinguishers. A panicked guest jumped off the first floor balcony, but fortunately did not sustain any injuries. It was a small fire and no one was harmed.”
DLF-3 fire officer, Digvijay Rathi, said that by the time they reached the spot, the fire was already doused following which, their vehicle returned to the station.
Another instance of fire occurred at a grocery go-down in Sohna at 6.45am.
The grocery stock was gutted before two fire tenders from Sohna put out the flames within two and half hours. There were no casualties, cops said.
In another incident, a fire broke out at Bharat Seats Ltd company located at the Maruti Joint Venture Complex in Udyog Vihar-4 on Friday. The fire was doused within one and half hours with no casualties. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
The fire was reported to Udyog Vihar fire station at 10.16am on Friday.
“Our first fire tender reached there by 10.21am and the second vehicle arrived at 10.25am. There was a fire in the first floor mezzanine where some seat covers and machinery had caught fire. One fire tender worked for over an hour and doused the flames. The second fire tender was not used. What triggered the fire has not been discovered yet,” Udyog Vihar fire station officer Ramkaran said.
