Four injured in fire due to LPG cylinder blast in Bengal

KOLKATA: Four people, including two women were injured after a fire broke out in an apartment located in the South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal on Saturday morning, according to police reports.
The blaze was caused by an explosion of an LPG cylinder that was placed on the balcony of the top-floor flat.
The explosion was so powerful that it caused severe damage to the apartment’s balcony, as stated by a senior officer. “Four fire tenders were pressed into service,” to combat the flames and bring the situation under control.
The injured persons were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment of their burn wounds, the official further added. The extent of their injuries and current condition remains undisclosed at this time.
