Furniture showroom near Kukrail bridge catches fire

Lucknow: A major fire erupted at a furniture showroom near Kukrail bridge on Faizabad road here on Saturday.
Locals alerted the fire personnel upon noticing the blaze. Several fire tenders, which were rushed to the spot, managed to extinguish the blaze before it could spread to nearby shops. Chief fire officer Mangesh Kumar confirmed that the fire at the showroom was brought under control and nobody sustained injuries in the incident.
Earlier, in an another fire incident, five shops were gutted in a shopping complex in the Vasant Vihar C Block on Saturday. However, prompt action by fire personnel averted a major mishap.
