Fire engulfs bag store on Satsang Road; no casualty reported

Ludhiana: A massive fire broke out at a bag store on Satsang Road, Civil Lines, on Saturday early morning. The fire engulfed the stock kept inside the shop.
The cause behind the incident is yet to be ascertained. The shop was closed when the fire broke out.
When the locals noticed the smoke and flames coming out of the ground and first floor of the shop, they contacted the fire brigade that took two hours to douse the flames.
According to the information, the fire brigade received a fire call from the area around 5.30am. At first, the fire officials waited for the owner who had keys to the shop shutter. After the oowner reached the spot, the firemen tried to open the lock but due to heat the shutter got jammed. The firefighters were left with no option but to break open the shutter.
Leading fireman Rajinder Singh said there was nobody inside the shop when the incident happened, therefore, no casualty had been reported. He claimed they stationed six fire tenders at the spot and made at least 20 to 25 rounds in two hours.
Meanwhile, another fire occured on Friday night at a hosiery unit in Bajwa Nagar. The fire continued for almost two hours.
